If there is one thing I want to be clear about, it is this: a lot of good things happened in 2017.
I got a permanent job. I saved a healthy amount of money. I went to Edinburgh for the first time. I attended London Comic Con with my parents. I watched a truly amazing performance of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. I read some beautiful books including The Gustav Sonata and A Gathering of Shadows. I played the amazing Final Fantasy XV, the incredibly stylish Persona 5, and the lush Breath of the Wild.
It was, without a doubt, a fun and generally good year right up until my grandma passed away in the middle of December.
Her passing was completely unexpected in every way and I think that I still don’t quite believe it. I don’t think I truly will until the funeral, which has been delayed considerably.
I just feel a bit cold inside at the moment.
I’m doing what I need to do to get by (which at the moment seems to mean reading and savouring Undercover Princess by the lovely Connie Glynn and binge watching Jackspeticeye videos).
Usually I would use the first post of the year to make some new goals and resolutions for the new year but I feel too caught up in last year to do that just yet.
The only goal I can think of is to be brave.
Thank you for continuing to read my rambles.
