Top Ten Tuesday is a meme created by The Broke and the Bookish. Each week they provide a topic for a Top Ten list. Check out the link to see what topics they have planned for the coming weeks.
This week’s topics is ‘Top Ten Facts About Me’. I wasn’t sure what exactly people would want to know, so I’ve just popped down some random stuff. So, without further ado:
My favourite book is currently The Goblin Emperor by Katherine Addison. I love the characters, the messages and the way the plot totally envelopes you into the world it takes place in. Just holding the book makes me feel deeply happy.
I have a dog. She’s pretty much my little sister. My troublesome and slightly stinky little sister. I honestly don’t know what I’d do without her. She’s always there when I need a supportive figure.
I love unicorn themed knickknacks. Many of my coworkers now complain that they can’t see a unicorn without thinking of me. Hey, there are worse things to be associated with.
I’ve lived in several different countries including Germany and Cyprus.
My home country is the UK, though, so I think that will always be my favourite place. I’m really keen to explore as much of the UK as possible now I’m based here for a while. I went to Scotland for the first time earlier this year and it was one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen. I’m hoping to visit Wales as well before the end of the year.
I used to write a lot of fanfiction. I still get reviews and follows on my stories even though it’s been years since I published them. I used to love writing so much. I wrote fanfiction for a variety of fandoms, from Death Note to The Picture of Dorian Gray. They were all a bit dark and angsty. What I’d really love to do is write a positive story just to prove to myself that I can. In private I’ve been working on a big Howl’s Moving Castle/Throne of Glass Crossover piece for fun but I haven’t published it online.
It goes without saying that Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell is a book that speaks to me a lot on a personal level.
I love audiobooks. Listening has always been my favourite way to take things in, ever since I was tiny. I’m a keen walker (I have to be because of the aforementioned dog) so having an audiobook to listen to means I can mix together my love of walking and reading at the same time. Perfect! I also love just the idea of taking in a story as a performed narrative. It helps bring a story to life for me.
This blog is my fourth attempt at blogging. I started with a private blog about my studies and then I experimented a bit with book blogging. Now I’ve settled on this one where I mostly talk about books but also mix in some anime and personal stuff.
I love gaming. My 3DS XL and PS Vita are my favourite gaming systems, with the PS3 and my PC as a close second. My most loved games include Persona 4 (which helped me during some dark times), Fire Emblem: Awakening and all of the Ace Attorney games.
I’m addicted to podcasts. There are so many I want to talk about and recommend, including Sayer, Undisclosed and The Bright Sessions. I think my addiction stems from my love of audiobooks.
I never go anywhere without a notebook. I like being able to open it up whenever I like to scribble some notes about what I’m reading and how I feel.
Thank you for reading!
